Firefighter taken to hospital after fighting Mishawaka apartment fire

Fire crews from the Mishawaka Fire Department and the South Bend Fire Department were called to fight a fire at Parkview Apartments.

The blaze broke out around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19.

Residents in 20 units were displaced overnight because of this fire, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The American Red Cross was called to help, ABC 57 reported.

There is no word on the cause. One firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion, ABC 57 reported.
