The trial of a Niles Township man accused of killing his wife has been delayed.

49-year-old John Lewis appeared in court Friday, where both prosecutors and his defense agreed that moving his trial from Feb. 6 to Feb. 20 would be better. That’s because both sides believe his trial will take longer than a week, and more time was available by moving it later in the month.

WNDU reports prosecutors also want a scale model of the 9×7 room were Lewis’ wife was found. Lewis initially told police two large black men shot and killed his wife and stole her SUV.

It later was determined Lewis allegedly lied about killing her, about an affair he was having, and about the manufacture of marijuana at his home.
