Semi truck causes damage, shutdown of Elkhart intersection

A semi truck has reportedly shut down an Elkhart intersection Tuesday.

Elkhart police say a tractor trailer tried to make a turn from South Main Street onto Easdt Lusher Avenue. That same trailer reportedly hit a fire hydrant, traffic sign, and a utility pole.

The pole being hit caused wires to fall on the street, making the intersection impassable.

Crews are expected to work on the fallen wires throughout the afternoon. Avoid the area if you can.
