A Warsaw man has been sentenced for shooting at a police officer.

56-year-old Daniel Vanderpool received 10 years behind bars and 7.5 on probation.

His charges were originally attempted murder and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon for firing a shot a Warsaw police officer in February of 2017. Vanderpool accepted a plea agreement which sentenced him instead for attempted voluntary manslaughter.

He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and medication when the incident occurred.
