The man who police say shot and killed his child’s grandmother at Anderson Apartments in South Bend and fired his gun at an officer is in custody.
Tomara Agnew, 40, was shot three times on Sunday, Oct. 7, after she and Anthony Patton Jr., 23, got into an argument, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigators say Patton then took aim on a South Bend police officer when leaving the area, the prosecutor’s office says.
Patton Jr. was taken into custody on Saturday after a foot chase on 30th Street near the railroad tracks, according to South Bend Police.
He faces a count of murder, attempted murder, as well as resisting, false informing and weapons-related charges.
