Liquor license renewed for South Bend bar labeled “chronic nuisance”

It’s had more than it’s share of problems, but you can still have a drink at the Arabesk Palace on North Ironwood Drive, at least for another year.

The St. Joseph County Alcoholic Beverage Board has renewed the liquor license for Arabesk Palace.

They approved a one-year renewal instead of a multi-year license.

Twice, the Mediterranean-themed establishment has found itself designated as a “chronic nuisance,” for problems ranging from large crowds, loud music, and even gun shots fired in the parking lot.

There have been several police calls to the business this year alone, including five in a span of 60 days.

The board’s decision, this past week, came after a number of improvements that have been made in the last few months.
