A South Bend gun shop was targeted in an attempted break-in.

South Bend police say it happened around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Video showed two suspects trying to break into the Femme Fatale store on South Main Street.

One of the men covered his face with a hood and was wearing yellow gloves while swinging a hammer at a glass door, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

It appeared that the would-be thieves pulled up in a nearby parking lot on two LimeBikes, ABC 57 reported.

When the alarm went off, the men ran back to the bikes and fled the scene. Because they failed to enter the building, the case is being investigated as vandalism.

The owner, however, says video shows the men casing the building for ten minutes, and thinks attempted robbery would be more appropriate.
