Prepackaged salad recall impacting several stores in Indiana and Michigan

Salads sold at Target, Aldi, Walmart and other stores have been recalled due to the potential for E. coli contamination, according to the USDA.

Missa Bay, LLC, of Swedesboro, N.J is recalling over 75,000 pounds of salad products with meat or poultry in them. The products affected by the recall were made from October 14, 2019 to October 16, 2019 and have establishment number “EST. 18502B” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

They were shipped to locations in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Symptoms of E. coli include diarrhea and vomiting. Officials say most people recover within a week, but rarely, some develop a severe infection. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

Throw them away or return them to the store with a receipt for a refund.
