A legendary Mishawaka sports bar is closing their doors on Friday.

Roc’s, at the corner of Lincoln Way East and Main Street, is calling it a day after 19 years in business. Opening in 2000 on Edison Road as Roc-n-Mike’s, Rocco Zappia and his former business partner Mike Faulkner opened the bar and decorated it with an amazing collection of memorabilia. Most of that collection is now for sale, and Roc will open his doors for a few hours on Sunday to sell those pieces that remain.

The South Bend Tribune reports that a former South Bend resident, living in Nashville, has bought the property and looks to launch a Nashville-themed restaurant next year.

This is sad to hear. We ate lunch there every Friday. The fish and spaghetti was awesome. So sad to see it go. Too bad you can’t go back to Edison! Lots of parking there.

Generally there are no comments on these stories, but you have come back twice to dump on Roc’s. You must have been the guy who got banned for peeing on the toilet seats. Let it go.
