We report the facts that we are given. The health department does not always provide details, or provides them later, at which point we update our stories. In this case, they have simply updated the map and the numbers. So that’s what we are reporting right now.

The 10%-10% rule applies. With 71 cases in Elkhart County that means 10% or about 7 of them need to be hospitalized. About 1 of those (about 10%) needs to be in ICU/Ventilator care. So why stop elective procedures??? Look at the map of the other Indiana counties. Only the 3-4 large population centers would need any emergency orders to close down elective procedures or close the economy. Isolate the sick or exposed as has been done for all past epidemics except H1N1 and leave the rest of us to go back to work, church, or any other place we want to go. Not opposed to precautions like distancing, masks.and hand-washing. Just opposed to excuses for TYRANNY!!!
