Man, 40, charged in connection with serious injury crash in Mishawaka

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Lucas Packer, 40, in connection with a May 21, serious bodily injury crash that occurred at E. Jefferson Blvd and Byrkit Avenue in Mishawaka.

Packer is charged with Causing Serious Bodily Injury when Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Substance in the Blood, a Level 5 Felony.

Packer was arrested on Monday, Aug. 17 and placed in the St. Joseph County Jail.

His bail hearing and arraignment were scheduled for Monday afternoon.

If found guilty of his charge, he could be sentenced for up to six years in prison.
