Three Berrien County Sheriff’s K9s gifted bulletproof vests

Three Berrien County Sheriff’s K9s have receive bullet- and stab-proof vests.

Blek, Maxx and Mika were given the vests as part of a donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interested in K9s, Inc., whose mission is to provide protective vets and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement throughout the U.S.

Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s has provided more than 4,100 vests to K9s in all 50 states.

Each vest has a value of approximately $2,000, weighs an average of 4-5 pounds and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, visit vik9s.org.
