Elkhart Police are investigating a stabbing that happened Monday afternoon.

Around 2:00, authorities were called to the 400 block of West Marion Street to investigate a report of a stabbing.

There they found a victim with a single stab wound to their chest.

According to police, the victim stated they were stabbed during an altercation.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
