One person shot on East Britain Avenue in Benton Township

One person was hurt in a shooting at an apartment complex in Benton Harbor.

The shooting happened around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, in the parking lot of the complex in the 1900 block of E. Britain Avenue.

Police arrived to find the 20-year-old victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to thigh, legs and shoulder.

Officers say a teal or aqua-colored, mid-size SUV had been at the scene and that the suspect, a male wearing a dark-colored mask and glasses, shot at the victim from the passenger side. The SUV was last seen headed west on E. Britain Avenue.
