A decision has been reached in a police-involved shooting that happened earlier this year in Mishawaka.

37 year-old Michael Hass was killed on January 31st after he reportedly pointed a shotgun at police at the Village Green Mobile Home Park. Officer Garret Schock drew his gun and fired at Hass.

After public records requests, dashcam footage of the confrontation was released by the department on Wednesday, and Schock has been on paid leave, per department policy. Now, the shooting has been ruled justifiable by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
