Elkhart man found guilty of murder for 2020 death of Alan Diaz

An Elkhart man has been found guilty of murder for his role in the March 2020 murder of 19-year-old Alan Diaz of South Bend.

23-year-old Oliver Bwalya is one of four men accused in Diaz’s shooting death, which took place in the 16-hundred block of North Elmer Street.

The cases against James Birtcher III, Oluwatomipe Makanjuola and Adonis Harris, who
were also charged with murder in relation to Diaz’s death, remain pending.

Bwalya faces 45 to 65 years in prison when he’s sentenced on June 8th.
