Woman arrested after driving intoxicated with a child

A woman was arrested in Elkhart after driving under the influence, with a child.

It happened at 12:03 a.m., July 8, when an officer was driving in the 800 block of Benham Avenue and saw a car driving without headlights or taillights on.

The officer pulled the driver over and says that she was impaired.

ABC 57 News reports that a child was in the backseat.

The driver, 33-year-old Sylvia Morales, allegedly had a fake ID in the car.

Morales was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 18, false identity statement, and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
