A new statewide program is seeking to put more Hoosiers on track for college and get them earlier admission decisions.
High school seniors in the 2024 graduating class will be the first to take part in Indiana’s “Pre-Admissions-Path to College” initiative.
Through a partnership with many of Indiana’s higher education institutions, the commission will make sure students get “pre-admission” letters from at least three schools.
The program is a response to Indiana’s declining college-going rate. Just over half of Indiana’s 2020 high school grads chose to go to college.
Five years ago, 65% of the state’s high school graduates pursued higher education.
