INDOT will begin paving the Ireland Road and Michigan Street intersection on Monday, September 11 as its US. 31 road reconstruction project moves to the next phase.
The intersection will remain open to traffic; however, motorists should expect major delays and use an alternate route if possible.
Paving is expected to be complete by Friday, September 15, weather permitting.
During paving, all northbound, southbound and westbound traffic will be restricted down to single lanes. Motorists traveling in these three directions will be able to go straight through the intersection but their ability to turn might be limited depending on the progress of paving.
Eastbound traffic will be able to turn northbound or southbound but will not be able to go through the intersection.
