(95.3 MNC)
Part of the Cook Nuclear Plant has completed its latest refueling outage.
Unit 1 is gradually being brought back up to full power. Unit 2 is scheduled for an outage in the spring. Cook Plant spokesperson Bill Downey told WSJM that Unit 1 was reconnected to the transmission grid Wednesday night after a 32-day outage.
About a thousand additional workers were brought in to conduct the maintenance during the refueling outages, boosting the local economy.
The plant event brought in food trucks for the plant workers, sometimes even late at night.
