A Michigan man is facing charges in a case of stolen mPerks points for the Meijer rewards program…

Officials are referring to the case as “organized retail crime.” WNDU reports that in April of last year, a number of Meijer customers complained to the retailer that their points were disappearing. The investigation revealed encrypted chats and other digital evidence leading to account credentials that were being offered for sale.

Michigan’s Attorney General said on Thursday that a search warrant in Ottawa County led to the arrest of 22 year-old Nicholas Mui. He faces charges of operating a criminal enterprise and seven counts of identity theft, which are believed to be just the tip of the iceberg.
