Talks continue to define a restarted Palisades plant

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission met this week with Holtec International, the owners of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Van Buren County, to discuss the fine points of the plan to restart the plant.

There are questions including quality assurance to operations of the old reactor that still need to be ironed out, according to WSJM.

The possibility of adding small modular reactors was not discussed. Holtec was given information about what the NRC expects from the proposed restart.
