This month Michigan has begun the process of destroying confiscated firearms.
The state is using a scrap metal pulverizer to do it. The Michigan State Police put a temporary pause on firearm disposal back in January of last year while they looked into the most efficient method. Their previous method only destroyed the frame or receiver of the firearm, according to ABC 57 News.
The new method will ensure that all of the parts of the firearm are destroyed and can never be used again. The pulverized metal will be melted down into flat roll steel coils.
The state penal code states firearms that are confiscated can be sold at public auction before they are destroyed.

“The state penal code states firearms that are confiscated can be sold at public auction before they are destroyed.”
So instead of providing law abiding citizens a low cost option to protect themselves, the powers that be are making a virtue signaling statement that wastes both money and resources.
We are being governed by morons.
Such a waste. Who is to say the rolls of steel cannot be bought and made into new firearms?
