Kennedy Academy struck by lightning during Thursday morning storms

No injuries were reported after a lightning strike at Kennedy Academy in South Bend.

Students were briefly evacuated after the strike, which happened around 8:30 am. First responders were called in to assess the situation and parents were notified quickly.

A circuit board inside a janitor closet and a low voltage wire was affected that is associated with the outdoor sprinkler system. No other damage was reported.
