BBB encourages donors to use caution while choosing how to help California wildfire victims

As firefighters continue to battle the wildfires in California, the Better Business Bureau is encouraging you to be careful with your donations.

They say before you donate any money, be sure the charity is trustworthy. Look for specific fire relief activities, and watch out for charities with vague program descriptions.

Be mindful when clicking links, and keep an eye out for click-bait and phishing scams. Review crowdfunding requests, and understand the different phases of disaster relief, as most disasters go through three periods of activity: rescue, relief and recovery.
