A Niles man was sentenced for drug and weapon charges last week.
48-year-old Heith Bradley O’Donnell pleaded guilty to cocaine and marijuana distribution and firearm possession and received concurrent prison terms of six to 20 years, three to 15 years and one to five years.
O’Donnell’s home was searched in August of 2023 when the Southwest Michigan Drug Enforcement Team found drugs, weapons, cash and stolen property.
O’Donnell’s past record includes convictions for resisting police, weapons, battery and marijuana distribution, though he expressed regret and apologized for his actions.
According to Leader Publications, the judge stated that a plea agreement saved O’Donnell a considerable amount of time in prison, but told him life in prison would be likely if he goes back to his old ways once he is released.
