Goshen man found slumped over wheel, Arrested for OWI

A Goshen man was arrested for operating while intoxicated after police found him slumped over the wheel of his vehicle.
Goshen Police were called just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, to the 1800 block of Eisenhower Drive North around 10:42 p.m. and discovered Saul Hernandez Benitez, 38, unresponsive in the driver’s seat.
Upon further investigation, officers conducted field sobriety tests, which Benitez failed. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of .158%, nearly twice the legal limit.
Benitez was taken to Goshen General Hospital for a blood draw before being transported to the Elkhart County Jail.
He faces charges of operating while intoxicated.
