Goshen man arrested for OWI, Reckless driving on Elkhart Road

A 23-year-old Elkhart man was arrested following a high-speed traffic stop on Elkhart Road.
According to Goshen Police, officers stopped a vehicle just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, in the 1800 block of Elkhart Road after it was seen traveling at an extremely high rate of speed. The driver, identified as Joan Martin Garay was taken into custody.
Garay faces preliminary charges of reckless driving, operating while intoxicated with endangerment (with a prior offense), and never obtaining a driver’s license.
Police say Garay provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol concentration of .137. He also submitted to a certified chemical test, with results pending.
Garay was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.
