Beckwith distances from pastor after social media post promoting violence

(95.3 MNC)

After his X account reposted a video from Justin Zhong, a pastor who has called for the execution of gay people, Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith is distancing himself from the man.

Beckwith’s team said the repost was “immediately undone” once they realized Zhong’s connection to the Sure Foundation Baptist Church, which has been classified as a hate group.

A spokesperson for Beckwith stated that he denounced all calls for violence toward the LGBTQ+ community and has no plans to attend a service at the church.
