South Bend man pleads guilty to conspiracy to commit murder

A South Bend man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in connection to a January 2023 shooting death.

Christopher Brown entered the plea on Tuesday, Aug. 5, midway through his jury trial in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.

The trial stemmed from the deadly shooting of Justin Stewart, 31, in the 500 block of South 29th Street in South Bend.

The agreement, which was reached in consultation with the victim’s family, includes a fully executed 25-year sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction.

His formal sentencing is set for September 2nd. A second person, London Davis, 30, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death.
