Alliance for Great Lakes says agriculture, mining, data centers are putting strain on water resources

The Alliance for the Great Lakes says agriculture, mining, and data centers are putting increasing strain on water resources due to “a lack of planning and oversight.”
Helena Volzer, the group’s Senior Source Water Policy Manager, cited May incidents where wells near an Amazon data center and a Samsung/GM battery plant dried up, likely from groundwater pumping.
Volzer warns conflicts over water will grow without stronger policies.

Farming and mining have been happening in this area for over 100 years… What has changed RECENTLY to cause these issues?

*cough*datacenters*cough*

Never trust any of these little NGOs who call for “greater planning and oversight”.
