Indiana Senator Todd Young and Michigan Senator Gary Peters have introduced a new bill aimed at improving school bus safety.
The bipartisan “Brake for Kids Act” would require the Department of Transportation to launch a national public safety campaign to educate drivers about the dangers of illegally passing a stopped school bus.
According to a recent report, nearly a quarter of all Americans are unaware that it is against the law to pass a stopped school bus with its lights flashing.
