As the federal fiscal year’s end approaches, the threat of a government shutdown continues.

And, local agencies are bracing for impact. REAL Services, which support families and older adults in Fulton, St. Joseph, Kosciusko, Elkhart, Marshall and La Porte Counties, warns that a shutdown could disrupt funding streams that power vital programs and services, like housing support, utility assistance, Meals on Wheels, transportation, and more.

They’re urging lawmakers to act responsibly and avoid an “unnecessary disruption.”

The agency is also asking residents to share personal stories with elected officials.

It’s time to stop funneling tax dollars to these NGOs. Make charities charity again!
