A St. Joseph County judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging Council Member Sharon McBride’s residency, ending months of legal uncertainty.
The suit claimed McBride lived outside the 3rd District she represents, staying temporarily at her mother’s home in the 2nd District.
McBride said the move was necessary while her home was under repair.
The judge ruled that the plaintiff lacked legal standing under Indiana law, clearing McBride of wrongdoing and confirming her eligibility to serve.

What BS. How does a citizen lack standing to question the residency requirement for elected officials? I question the competence of the judge.
