A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for child molestation in Elkhart County Superior Court.

William Whitt was arrested in June 2024 on two Level 1 felony counts involving a teenager.

His attorney called the case “unusual” and said there would have been “issues” if it had gone to trial.

The Goshen News says under a plea agreement, Whitt pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony.

He’ll serve six years, with two through Elkhart County Community Corrections and one on probation.

The second charge was dismissed.
