South Bend International Airport’s fourteenth annual Bears in the Air program is spreading comfort and smiles once again this holiday season.

More than 2,600 teddy bears have been delivered to children in five area hospitals.

SBN CEO and Executive Director Mike Daigle, along with airport team members, personally delivered the bears to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, Beacon Children’s Hospital, Elkhart General Hospital, and Saint Joseph Medical Centers in Mishawaka and Plymouth.

Since its start, the program has provided more than 25,000 teddy bears to young patients.

Organizers say the bears offer companionship during difficult times, thanks to generous community and corporate support.
