Two arrested on drug and theft charges after shoplifting call in Goshen

Two people were arrested following a reported shoplifting incident at the Kohl’s store that led Goshen police to discover illegal drugs and stolen property.
Officers were dispatched around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, to the 3800 block of Midway Road  after receiving a report of shoplifting in progress. Following an investigation at the scene, police arrested Noah Johnson, 27, a homeless man from Mishawaka, and Riley Dillard, 20, a homeless woman from Mishawaka.
Johnson was taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and theft-shoplifting. Dillard was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and criminal conversion.
Both individuals were transported to the Elkhart County Jail.
