St. Joseph County Commissioner Carl Baxmeyer will formally file for reelection Monday morning at the County-City Building in South Bend.

Baxmeyer, who currently serves as President of the County Board of Commissioners, is scheduled to submit his candidacy paperwork at 11 a.m. at the County Clerk and Voter Registration Office on the fourth floor. He is expected to offer brief comments afterward.

Supporters are anticipated to attend the filing, which the campaign notes will offer visuals of the filing process and remarks.

Baxmeyer is seeking another term after a tenure that has emphasized fiscal management, infrastructure investment, and what the commission describes as steady, professional leadership focused on core county services. The campaign says he is running to continue that work and build on progress made during his time as commission president.
