Indiana is one of only ten states to receive a highly competitive $10 million federal grant to boost student literacy.
Announced at this week’s State Board of Education meeting, the funding is a partnership between the Indiana Department of Education and the University of Notre Dame.
The grant will expand the “Tutor-ND” model, providing high-impact, virtual tutoring based on the Science of Reading.
Governor Mike Braun says the investment will target rural and underserved communities to ensure all Hoosier students develop the foundational skills needed for lifelong success.
