Steuben County drug investigation leads to multiple arrests

A Steuben County drug investigation led to multiple arrests following surveillance on Monday, March 9.
Detectives observed 35-year-old Dayton Penland, a fugitive parolee, evade an ankle monitor and hide in a vehicle, where he was taken into custody along with the driver, Matthew Penland, 40, on preliminary charges including assisting a criminal.
Subsequent searches of the vehicle and the property uncovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.
Additional arrests include Christa Gilbert, 50, and Arthur Garcia Jr., 54, facing drug and obstruction charges.
