Semi crashes into cemetery along State Road 2

(95.3 MNC)

A semi-truck left the roadway and crashed into a cemetery Thursday afternoon along State Road 2, west of the U.S. 20/31 Bypass.

Authorities say the truck went through a guardrail before entering the cemetery property.

Westbound lanes were temporarily closed as crews worked to remove the semi, with traffic diverted into the eastbound passing lane.

An Indiana State Police trooper certified in Level 1 commercial vehicle inspections determined the crash was not caused by mechanical failure.

The driver was cited for unsafe lane movement but did not acknowledge responsibility for the crash.

No injuries were reported, and the roadway has since reopened.
