A Goshen man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police say he was driving while intoxicated and had never obtained a driver’s license.
According to the Goshen Police Department, officers were called around 4:41 p.m. on April 12 to the area of Lincolnway East and East Madison Street for a report of a man slumped inside a vehicle.
Officers soon spotted a vehicle matching the description traveling west on East Madison Street and conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block.
Following an investigation, police identified the driver as 26-year-old Adan Delgado Romo of Goshen. Authorities say he was operating a vehicle while intoxicated in a manner that endangered the public and was also driving without ever having obtained a license.
Police say Delgado Romo submitted to a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of .248 percent-more than three times the legal limit.
He later refused a certified chemical test. A search warrant was obtained, and those results are pending.
Delgado Romo was taken to the Elkhart County Jail. The case remains under investigation.
