Two women were charged after investigators found nearly 30 animals living in their home under deplorable conditions.

Many of the animals were seen soiled, covered in urine and feces.

Chesterfield Police got to the 500 block of Vasbinder Drive on May 17 as they were responding to a report of multiple abandoned cats at the home.

Officers found several cots confined to a cage in the yard, and they spoke to Sandra Aynes and Chelsea Ancil, who agreed to surrendering the animals to a rescue organization.

Police received a complaint on May 30, where investigators found a paralyzed cat. Both women surrendered the cat to an animal care organization, according to officers.

Investigators conducted a search warrant on the home on June 12 and took custody of all of the animals, including 19 cats and eight dogs.

Aynes and Ancil face were charged with Cruelty to an Animal.​
