A South Bend man has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm.
Twenty-two-year-old Louis Hampton received a 27-month sentence, followed by two years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a gun.
Authorities say South Bend Police found a firearm with a large-capacity magazine during a traffic stop involving Hampton. He had a prior felony criminal recklessness conviction and was barred from having a firearm.
