Officers believe the van, while turning left onto Middlebury Street, crossed the semi’s path. The semi wasn’t able to stop and collided with the van, sending it off the roadway and into a utility pole.

The semi driver wasn’t hurt. The van driver was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
