A Goshen man who claimed he was a major drug dealer in the county was in court this week.

45-year-old Gregory Battle was arrested last month and charged with dealing over 10 grams of methamphetamines and unlawful possession of a firearm by a violent felon.

The arrest came after police received several tips of alleged drug activity, prompting the issuance of a search warrant of Battles home.

The Elkhart Truth reports officers found smoking pipes, digital scales, baggies and a 9mm handgun in the home.

Battle allegedly admitted that he bought 2 to 3 ounces of meth daily, which he sold to other individuals to support his own habit and pay bills.

He was booked into Elkhart County Jail on 150,000 bond where the judge set a preliminary jury trail date of May 16.
