Taiwan has signed two letters of intent with Indiana to purchase nearly $6.4 billion of U.S. corn and soybeans.

The deal, which will span the next four years, was signed by leaders of the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and the Indiana Soybean Alliance.

Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith said the agreements mean more markets for Indiana farmers and will keep the state’s farm economy strong.

The deal is part of a Taiwan Agricultural Trade Goodwill Mission.
