A South Bend teenager convicted of murder in connection to the shooting death of a 2-year-old boy in 2014 won’t be sentenced until the middle of May.
Tyre Bradbury, 17, was originally scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday, April 27, after he was found guilty of murder and a criminal gang enhancement earlier in April.

However, Bradbury’s lawyer filed a motion Tuesday asking the judge to take Bradbury’s age into consideration, our news partners ABC 57 reported.
Judge Elizabeth C. Hurley said she will consider it.
Bradbury was convicted of giving a gun to a man who used it to shoot at another man during a gang fight at Coquillard Park in South Bend in April 2014. However, the bullet missed and hit 2-year-old John Swoveland Jr., who was playing in a relative’s front yard a few blocks away.
Bradbury is scheduled to be sentenced May 16.
