BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — Members of Michigan’s congressional delegation are among those getting a close-up look at major military sites in the state.

The two-day bipartisan tour wraps up Thursday, with stops that include Battle Creek Air National Guard Base. Republican Gov. Rick Snyder is joining the tour.

The office of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan says the tour seeks to “strengthen the delegation’s understanding of Michigan’s defense assets” and “create new opportunities and partnerships” to help expand the state’s role in defense and create jobs.

Others on the tour include Republican Reps. Fred Upton, Bill Huizenga, Dan Benishek and Candice Miller as well as Democratic Reps. Sander Levin and Debbie Dingell.

On Wednesday, the stops included Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County’s Harrison Township, located in suburban Detroit.
