No injuries reported after large fire at Summer Place Apartments in Granger

There were no injuries reported after a fire broke out at Summer Place Apartments at University Drive and Summer Place Lane in Granger.

The Mishawaka Fire Department was called to the scene around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 2. On arrival, crews found two upper-floor apartments engulfed.

As many as eight engines were on scene as dozens of residents from the complex watched crews battle the blaze.

The fire was out within an hour. Crews worked throughout the evening to make sure the blaze didn’t spark back up.

As many as six units received damage, according to ABC 57.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
